Our Trip to TEXAS

We travelled to Texas in August to surprise Samantha's best friend Maddie for her 8th birthday! While we were there we got to see Mrs. Pilkinton, Samantha's kindergarten teacher. I compare every teacher that Samantha has/had to this fabulous lady!! She instilled a LOVE for learning in Samantha and I thank her for that!

Below with Samantha and Mrs. P is the BIRTHDAY GIRL! Maddie was so surprised that we were there. Maddie's Dad & grandparents took Maddie out to the Rainforest Cafe and told her that her mom was running late and would be there shortly. Well, Maddie was walking around the cafe and we snuck in and sat at their table. Maddie came around the corner and saw me, jaw dropped and started scanning the area for Samantha. Then there was screaming, jumping and hugging going on. Maddie was surprised!

Samantha got an adorable pedi and mani while we were there, we had a girls day out and moms and daughters got their toes done, some nails too!

She even got to see Andrew, another classmate of hers. His mom is a good friend of mine and it was great to catch up with her.

That little dot in the corner is a spider and this does NOT do it justice. Christy (Maddie's Mom) was trying to kill it but every time it moved she jumped and ran (maybe there was a little scream also). Finally, Samantha said "just give me the shoe and I will kill it" and that she did. Christy was very happy that the big spider was dead, he was a jumping kind.

I had such a great time visiting my friends in Texas and enjoying the nice, warm weather!
