Another Slowly - NY Trip

We went to NY from June 11-14th. My brother had a big event that weekend...bands and BMX bike tricks. Samantha LOVED to watch the bikes doing fancy tricks (note to self...make sure there are NO mounds in the neighborhood for her to get ideas)

She walked hand in hand with her Grandpa around before the big event.

Mom, me and Sam went and got our toenails painted. Mom got the same nail polish as Samantha.
BUT the big event I DID NOT get pictures of...
Samantha decided she would get her ears pierced if Grandma got her second hole. I am happy I already had my second hole. Samantha went first and the two ladies counted to three and fired their guns and Samantha...just held her breath and didn't blink. My mom got up there and the ladies counted to three and fired their guns again and I thought she was going to jump off that chair! Mom asked Samantha "if you had to only get one ear at a time would you have gotten the second ear done?"
Samantha replied..."NO" My mom agreed.
This was a spare of the moment idea and I didn't have my camera and Samantha didn't want me to get near her ears after the fact, but they look soooo cute!

Aw bless their hearts. I remember getting my ears pierced. I'd done them myself in Grade 9 but let them close up for fear my Mom would find out (I wasn't allowed to get them pierced until 16 but I couldn't wait). At 15 friends of ours brought home pierced earrings from a mission trip for me and my BFF and my Mom said I could go get my ears pierced then. I was SO glad she wasn't with me - the lady who did my ears KNEW I'd had them done already because of scar tissue. My mom would have freaked! I don't think I ever told her that either - hmm. Just one of the secrets I never got the chance to come clean with ;-)

Hope Sam enjoys her new found earring freedom!
