Wow, it has been a LONG time since I have been on here and believe me there have been a lot of things I could have posted but I have been so busy. I am planning my daughter's school's Book Fair, now this is something I have NEVER done and I am so worried that I will forget something important. I have worked Book Fairs at Samantha's other schools but have never run one and I am amazed at how much there is to do before the Fair. I now have a new respect to Book Fair Chairs in Texas and Indiana! Samantha's school hasn't had a Fair in over 3 years and I thought it would be a great way to earn money for books, I hope all my hard work gets us lots of books!
So what has been happening in my family for the last 2 months....LOTS! In February Samantha was working on her speech for school, can I tell you she ROCKED!!! Jim and I are so proud of her speech since she picked something that means a lot to her and told everyone what it was. She has been volunteering at an animal shelter and she told everyone about what she does, the history of the place and some of the animals there. She still volunteers once a week for about an hour playing with the cats, she loves it! She is looking forward to the day that she is old enough to play with the dogs. She is now working on her Science Fair project but I will tell you more about that later, she presents next week!
In March, Samantha and I went to San Antonio, TX while Jim was away on his golf trip with the boys. I will post pictures of our trip so you can see how beautiful San Antonio is. Also in March was the parent/teacher meetings and I was told how wonderful my daughter is, love that!! In the Fall her teacher was telling me that sometimes her tone is not very nice but she doesn't feel she is trying to be mean so Jim and I discussed it with her and told her that if her teacher said she has improved with this then we would give her $10 to use at the Book Fair. She was very excited when I told her that Mrs. Cook said she had improved a lot!!
Another thing that I have noticed a lot over the last couple of months is Samantha's love for reading! Now, she has loved reading for a long time but I have noticed a new enthusiasm for it. She eats books up left and right especially if they have dogs in them. She likes to read almost every night before lights out and I am amazed at how thick her books are getting. I am so happy that she loves reading since it is one of my favorite things to do.
Well, this is my update in a nutshell and I will try really hard to let everyone know what is happening with the Flemming Family in Canada!
Smiles,
Susan
